A communication system includes an inground communication link that allows bidirectional communication between a walkover detector and the drill rig via the inground tool. Monitoring of inground tool depth and/or lateral movement can be performed using techniques that approach integrated values. Bit force based auto-carving is described in the context of an automated procedure. Loss of locator to drill rig telemetry can trigger an automated switch to a different communication path within the system.

Abstract: A process improves accuracy in mapping geodetic coordinates to image sensor coordinates via an image rational function. The image rational function is fitted to an image-to ground sensor model at an input grid of image u coordinates and image v coordinates, and further at geodetic longitudes, geodetic latitudes, and geodetic heights corresponding to the image u coordinates and the image v coordinates. This fitting generates fit residuals. The fit residuals are stored as a function of the image u coordinates, the image v coordinates, and the geodetic height coordinates. The fit residuals are applied to metadata associated with the image rational function. This application corrects for a residual error in a fit of the image rational function to the image-to-ground sensor model.

Abstract: An apparatus may include multiple memory devices. Each memory device may include multiple memory banks. Addresses of accessed word lines for a particular portion of memory and the number of times those word lines are accessed may be tracked by each memory device. When a memory device determines that an accessed word line is an aggressor word line, the memory device alerts other memory devices of the apparatus. The memory devices may then perform targeted refresh operations on victim word lines of the aggressor word line.

Abstract: Apparatuses and techniques are described for reducing read time in a memory device. A source voltage signal, Vcelsrc, and a body voltage signal, Vp-well, of a source region and a p-well, respectively, of a substrate of a NAND string are controlled to reduce the channel resistance. Vcelsrc can be temporarily reduced, e.g., provided with a negative voltage kick, while Vp-well is non-decreasing during a read operation. The negative voltage kick decreases a body bias of the NAND string in its channel to reduce the channel resistance and increase the current. The negative voltage kick can be initiated when a bit line clamp transistor is made conductive to allow a current to flow in the NAND string. The magnitude and duration of the negative voltage kick can be adjusted based on various factors.

The base station transmits the interference parameters to the UE. The UE receives the one or more parameters comprising information about signals expected to cause intra-cell or inter-cell interference. The UE then processes received signals using the one or more parameters to suppress the intra-cell or inter-cell interference.

Matching user and control plane data in a network system using control and user plane separation
Patent No. 11140566
Inventor(s): John Peter Curtin (Richardson, TX)
Assignee(s): NetScout Systems, Inc (Westford, MA)
Law Firm: Locke Lord LLP (Local + 12 other metros)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16849480 on 04/15/2020 (538 days app to issue)

Dynamic PDCP duplication with bearer modification, to help overcome reduced wireless quality
Patent No. 11140574
Inventor(s): Ankur Sharma (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): Sprint Spectrum L.P. (Overland Park, KS)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16822575 on 03/18/2020 (566 days app to issue)
Abstract: A method and system to help facilitate communication between a user equipment device (UE) and an access node that is serving the UE, in a scenario where a bearer is configured for the UE, the bearer having a defined set of quality-of-service (QoS) requirements for communication of user-plane data on the bearer. When wireless coverage of the UE from the access node is threshold poor, the access node and a supporting core network could interwork to loosen the set of QoS requirements of the bearer in an effort to avoid loss of the bearer. And upon loosening of the set of QoS requirements, the access node could invoke Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) duplication for the communication between the UE and the access node on the bearer, to help improve quality of the communication between the UE and the access node in presence of the threshold poor wireless coverage.

Avoiding media access control padding of trigger-based physical layer convergence protocol data unit
Patent No. 11140576
Inventor(s): Matan Ben-Shachar (Kibbutz Givat Haim Ihud, , IL), Oren Aharon Shani (Kfar-Saba, , IL), Shai Erez (Tsofit, , IL)
Assignee(s): TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATED (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16814327 on 03/10/2020 (574 days app to issue)
Abstract: A wireless station (STA) in a wireless local area network (WLAN) performs a method to avoid media access control (MAC) padding of a physical layer convergence protocol data unit (PPDU) (e.g., a trigger-based (TB) PPDU, etc.). The method can reduce current or power consumption by the STA, which can in turn optimize the STA and, in certain instances, the WLAN as whole. In one example, the method includes the STA receiving a trigger frame from an access point (AP). The trigger frame specifies a length of a PPDU. The method further includes the STA generating a TB PPDU based on the specifications in the trigger frame. In particular, the STA generates a PPDU that has a length that is less than the length specified by the trigger frame. The method also includes the STA transmitting the generated PPDU to the AP.
