Catalyze Dallas adds Boeing executive to its Board

Ed Dolanski

Venture development firm Catalyze Dallas has appointed Ed Dolanski, the former president of Defense Services at Boeing Government Services, to its Board of Advisors.

The move follows the news that Dolanski was retiring from Boeing this year. He brings more than three decades of experience working with defense companies to Catalyze, which partners with defense contractors and industrial companies to unleash value from their IP. Using its turnkey model, the company helps commercialize purpose-built products developed by defense companies.

“Our Board helps us work closely with defense partners, analyzing their R&D product portfolios to identify breakthrough technology and helping strategize how we can bring them to new markets,” Joe D’Cruz, founder and managing director of Catalyze Dallas, said in a statement. “Profound knowledge and experience like Ed’s help us effectively widen the lens in evaluating the most likely commercial opportunities. On our Board, he joins a similarly accomplished group of highly esteemed business, aerospace, defense, and energy executives.”

Mavenir appoints a president of Global Operations and Managed Services

Vishant Vora

Richardson-based Mavenir, an end-to-end network software provider for 4G and 5G networks, has named Vishant Vora as its president of Global Customer Operations and Managed Services.

In his new role, Vora will oversee the company’s global business operations. That includes network design, rollout and deployments, solutions and systems integration services, managed services, and related strategic initiatives.

Vora was most recently the CTO for Vodafone Idea at Vodafone Group, where he oversaw strategy, people, budget, and overall delivery for the company’s technology.

“I am pleased to welcome Vishant to Mavenir,” President and CEO Pardeep Kohli said in a statement. “He has led the deployment and management of large-scale Mobile Networks. He will provide a strong focus in leading our Operations activities and will also be charged with leading and driving growth in our end to end O-RAN-based cloud native network deployments and Managed Services business.”

Caliber makes internal promotions to prepare for growth

Mark Sanders

Lewisville-based Caliber, an automotive service provider, has announced that its President and COO Mark Sanders will succeed longtime CEO Steve Grimshaw, effective Jan. 1. Grimwshaw will become executive chairman.

Sanders is a veteran of the industry, having joined Caliber Collision back in 1997 as the company was expanding its operations to Texas. He is credited with having deep operation knowledge and leadership experience, as well as a commitment to Caliber’s purpose.

In his previous role as president and COO, Sanders led Caliber’s growth as it expanded its footprint across the U.S. He also oversaw the consolidation and alignment of all brands: Caliber Collision, Caliber Auto Care, and Caliber Auto Glass.

Steve Grimshaw

“I have been fortunate to work alongside many great mentors and leaders such as my father Joe Sanders and Steve Grimshaw and have been awarded many opportunities to learn and develop throughout my career,” Sanders said in a statement. “My goal in the coming years is to continue to develop an experience that inspires every current and future Caliber teammate to reach their full potential through training and development while restoring the rhythm of millions of lives together.”

During his tenure as CEO, Grimshaw helped Caliber grow from 68 locations in two states to more than 1,200 locations in 34 states. He will continue playing an integral role in evolving the business in his new role as executive chairman.

Munck Wilson Mandala gets two new litigation attorneys

Aaron Gottlieb

Dallas’ Munck Wilson Mandala, a technology-focused law firm, is welcoming principal attorney Aaron Gottlieb and senior counsel Michael Rose to its complex litigation/dispute resolution group.

Gottlieb has more than a decade of legal experience, specifically in complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, consumer finance litigation, corporate governance, and commercial lease review.

Rose has more than 17 years of experience in commercial litigation, professional liability, first-party bad faith litigation, coverage analysis, and risk management.

Michael Rose

Both attorneys will be apart of Munck Wilson’s litigation practice. Their roles will include assisting clients in various stages of commercial and high-stakes litigation.

Munck Wilson Mandala has offices in Dallas, Austin, and Marshall, Texas, and Los Angeles, California.

The firm offers full-service counsel in a number of areas of intellectual property litigation, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property portfolio development, corporate transactions and securities, and employment law.

Medecision names chief medical officer

Dr. Terri Steinberg

Dallas-based Medecision, a health management company that supports virtual care and digital health, has added Terri Steinberg to its team as the group senior vice president of Analytics and Population Health and chief medical officer.

Dr. Steinberg joins Medecision from ChristianaCare. There, she led technology-enabled population strategies, which included developing its award-winning CareVio offering. She is also a board-certified internist and geriatrician who has used her clinical knowledge to support product engineering, data science, and technology initiatives within healthcare.

In her new role, Dr. Steinberg will help support Medecision’s care intelligence platform, Aerial. Her leadership includes overseeing several clinical and technical teams and enhancing the company’s analytics, clinical informatics, and data intelligence capabilities. 

“As a long-time client, Terri Steinberg has been playing an important role in nurturing Medecision’s vision of liberating the healthcare system,” Medecision President and CEO Deb Gage said in a statement. “Now, her invaluable experience deploying Aerial to efficiently surface next-best actions during care journeys make her an incredible advocate for our clients.”

COMSovereign adds to its Board

Kay Kapoor

The Board of Directors at Dallas-based COMSovereign Holding Corp, a developer of 4G LTE Advanced and 5G connectivity and data transmission systems, has voted to expand from six to seven directors and elected Kay Kapoor to fill the new position.

Kapoor has three decades of experience in technology, telecommunications, consulting, and defense. She is currently the CEO of Arya Technologies, which helps clients in 5G, cyber, digital platforms, smart infrastructure, IoT, secure communications, and big data/analytics.

Kappor previously led AT&T’s Global Public Sector organization, in which she provided technology and communications solutions to government and education customers. Before that, she was the chairman and CEO of Accenture Federal Services, and before that was at Lockheed Martin for 20 years.

“Kay is an accomplished leader and talented executive who brings tremendous insights and expertise in government programs, M&A and telecom technology, making her a valuable and timely addition to our board as we begin to advance COMSovereign into its next phase of growth. On behalf of the entire team, we look forward to her joining the Board and to her contributions to the Company,” Dan Hodges, chairman and CEO of COMSovereign Holding Corp, said in a statement.

DHG names a partner in its Transaction Advisory Practice

Ryan Irby

Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG), a professional services firm, has added Ryan Irby to its Transaction Advisory practice as a partner.

Irby brings more than 14 years of experience in transaction advisory services to his new role. At DHG, he will help navigate buy-side and sell-side transactions for corporate buyers and private equity groups.

DHG has had a Fort Worth presence for more than two decades, and last year expanded its presence to Dallas with a new office in Victory Park. Dallas-Fort Worth continues to be a key market for the firm, and Irby’s role will help drive that success, per a news release.

“Texas is a key market for our Private Equity team and Ryan’s arrival cements DHG’s Transaction Advisory footprint in Dallas/Fort Worth and the greater Texas market. He is a passionate and knowledgeable leader in transaction advisory services, and we are thrilled to welcome him to DHG.
