Upbound Group Hires Former Signet Jewelers Exec as Chief Growth Officer

Rebecca Wooters brings more than 30 years of executive leadership in digital transformation, product innovation, technology, and customer engagement to Plano-based Upbound, the parent company of Rent-A-Center and Acima.

Former Signet Jewelers executive Rebecca Wooters has been appointed to the newly created position of chief growth officer by Plano-based Upbound Group (Nasdaq: UPBD). Upbound—the parent company of Rent-A-Center and Acima—is a tech- and data-driven provider of accessible and inclusive financial solutions that address the evolving needs and aspirations of underserved consumers.

Wooters’ appointment is effective Sept. 18, and she will report directly to CEO Fahmi Karam.

“Rebecca’s appointment to this newly created executive role underscores our commitment to accelerating a customer-centric growth strategy fueled by innovation, data-driven insights, and digital channel expansion,” Karam said in a statement. “Throughout her career, Rebecca has demonstrated a consistent ability to drive innovation, operational excellence, and transformative customer experiences that elevate brands and deliver measurable business impact. She brings a distinctive blend of expertise in digital, omnichannel engagement and financial solutions that will strengthen our ability to serve customers in new and meaningful ways.”

He added, “Her leadership will be critical as we deepen digital engagement, harness emerging technologies, and reimagine how we create value for customers, partners, and shareholders. Upbound said it will consolidate its marketing, data, analytics, customer experience, and product development teams into a single integrated group. The team will partner with Upbound’s business segments to identify synergies and drive growth through innovative digital products with a focus on seamless customer experiences, the company said.

Wooters brings more than 30 years of executive leadership in digital transformation, product innovation, technology, and customer engagement. Upbound said she was named one of the Top 25 Chief Digital Officers by Women We Admire in both 2024 and 2025, recognizing her impact across industries.

Led digital transformation for Kay, Zales, and Jared

From 2020 to 2025, Wooters served as the first chief digital officer at Signet Jewelers, the world’s largest specialty retail jeweler, where she led the digital transformation of brands including Kay Jewelers, Zales, and Jared. She implemented a connected commerce strategy powered by enterprise data, artificial intelligence, and agile delivery. Her leadership drove significant gains in e-commerce performance, ROI, and Net Promoter Score, Upbound said.

Before Signet, Wooters held senior roles at Citigroup, including managing director, chief customer experience officer. She led digital strategy and innovation for the North America Consumer Group, advancing mobile-first engagement and loyalty through a data-informed, customer-centric approach.
