Tech Titans has appointed Wendi R. Wilburn as its new president & CEO, effective today. The organization said the leadership transition reinforces its continued growth and its focus on strengthening the North Texas technology ecosystem through “partnerships, operational excellence, and increased member value.”
Wilburn has more than 25 years of leadership experience in strategy, digital innovation, and organizational growth. Her background includes work with startups, mid-market companies, and Fortune 50 organizations, where she has helped leadership teams improve visibility, strengthen operations, and boost revenue.
A two-time founder with successful exits, she has led companies through periods of transition and expansion while developing high-performing, mission‑focused teams, Tech Titans said. Previously, Wilburn served as founder and principal of Wendistry and as CEO and co‑founder of Lifestyle Frisco, and has held senior strategy and leadership roles at Accenture Song, Valtech, Brierley+Partners, Bottle Rocket, and Verizon.
“Wendi brings deep leadership experience and a proven ability to align strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement,” Marvin Harris, Jr., senior manager at Qorvo and board chair of Tech Titans, said in a statement. “Her background and vision are well suited to advancing our mission and supporting the continued growth of the North Texas technology community.”
Harris also praised the contributions of Deborah Sawyer, who has served as interim executive director since January, providing leadership and continuity during the transition.
“We’re grateful to Deborah for her steady leadership and commitment to Tech Titans during this interim period,” Harris said. “Her efforts ensured ongoing momentum and positioned the organization well for its next chapter.”
Leadership responsibilities
As president & CEO, Wilburn will oversee Tech Titans’ strategic direction and day-to-day operations, working closely with the board of directors, members, sponsors, and regional partners. She will focus on strengthening industry partnerships, enhancing member value, supporting workforce and leadership development, and reinforcing Tech Titans’ role as a central convening force for technology innovation in the region.
“I’m honored to join Tech Titans at such a pivotal time,” Wilburn said. “The organization plays a vital role in bringing together the people, ideas, and companies that drive innovation in North Texas. I look forward to working with the board, staff, and members to build on its strong foundation and extend its impact.”
Wilburn will guide the teams and volunteers responsible for Tech Titans’ signature programs, including the Annual Tech Titans Awards, Annual Golf Tournament, Tech Industry Luncheon Series, Tech Titans STEM outreach, and special interest forums.
