USPTO Releases Expansion of IP Identifier Tool, New Startup Certification Training Course

The USPTO wants to help startups, small businesses, and entrepreneurs grow their businesses with knowledge of the patent process. In the U.S., industry and commerce that rely on IP protection accounts for $7.8 trillion in annual GDP and supports 63 million jobs.

The USPTO anticipates three upcoming vacancies for each committee. Selected members will serve a three-year term beginning Dec. 1, 2024, and can participate in the committees remotely. Nominations must be submitted online on or before July 5.

Granted to Agustina Huckaby, design patent 1 million is for the ornamental design for a dispensing comb, the U.S. Patent and Trade Office said. The agency said that Huckaby, a licensed cosmetologist, also holds another patent for a different comb design and markets her business under the federally registered trademark Pomp and Powder.
