Elon Musk’s Boring Co. Selects Dallas for a Free ‘Loop’ Tunnel

Hoque Global's $1 billion University Hills development—a 270-acre project near the UNT Dallas campus in Southern Dallas—has been named one of three winners in The Boring Company's "Tunnel Vision Challenge." If the project passes a rigorous diligence progress, a free tunnel will be built, with future passengers whisked in Teslas from one end to the other.

University Hills could ultimately feature a town center, hundreds of single-family homes, around 1,500 apartments, 1.5 million square feet of commercial space, a hotel, a mixed-use stadium, and 50-plus acres of open green space—all near the intersection of I-20 and Lancaster Road and adjacent to UNT at Dallas.

Designed by the firms Stantec and Harrison Kornberg Architects, UNT Dallas' new four-story STEM facility will feature 18 to 20 classrooms, nine biology and chemistry teaching labs, three research labs, and a large event venue. The Dallas City Council recently approved up to $31.4 million in tax increment financing for the first phase of the Dallas-based developer's planned mixed-use development near the UNT Dallas campus.
University Hills could ultimately include 1,500 multi-family units, hundreds of single-family homes, 1.5 million square feet of commercial properties, and more than 50 acres of green space.
