Red Oak’s Qarbon Aerospace Partners with Hyundai Subsidiary on Electric Air Taxi Project

Supernal, a Washington, D.C.-based air taxi unit of Hyundai Motor Group, will use Qarbon's thermoplastic induction welding tech for its six-rotor air taxis. The air taxis are designed to carry up to four passengers with a pilot operating the controls, for quick trips within cities as soon as 2028.

Fort Worth-based Bell Textron and Red Oak's Qarbon Aerospace will manufacture major subassemblies for Virgin Galactic's next-generation Delta class spaceships. The production-model vehicles are designed to fly weekly with six passengers per ship, with production slated to begin next year.  “Bell and Qarbon Aerospace are established partners who bring know-how, ideas, and resources that will enable us to produce up to six new Delta class ships per year," said Virgin Galactic CEO Michael Colglazier.
