For the second year, the Dallas Wings Community Foundation is highlighting a different local Black-owned business on the team's social platforms each Wednesday in February in celebration of Black History Month. This month's spotlight is on Cookie Society, Pink Toes Nail Bar, Pressed Roots, and PureNRG Cycle.

Ahmad Goree succeeds the late Kirk Myers-Hill, who was president of Dallas Southern Pride, a premier organization hosting pride events throughout the Dallas area. Myers-Hill died in April; Goree said he's committed to continuing his work "to promote equality and justice for all." Dallas Southern Pride is now gearing up for the Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration June 15-20.

Texas Women’s Foundation Board Announces New Directors and a Chair Elect

Texas Women's Foundation is leading a legacy of inclusion, including with its members: women of color and people who identify as LGBTQ make up 49 percent of the board and 53 percent of staff. It's one of the most diverse and powerful boards in the region, according to its board chair.
