Plano-Based Fisher Investments Finalizes $3B Minority Stake Sale, Valuing Firm at Nearly $13B

Fisher Investments—which relocated its headquarters from Washington State to Plano in 2023—said the investment by Advent International and ADIA was part of founder Ken Fisher's long-term estate planning and "ensures the firm's long-term private independence, culture, growth evolution, and devotion to exceptional client service."

In a terse statement released Friday evening, Fisher Investments announced plans to move its corporate HQ from its 150-acre campus in Washington State to Texas. Along with its subsidiaries, Fisher manages over $197 billion in assets globally, and one of its five U.S. corporate offices is in Plano. According to Oregon Live, Fisher's announcement was made "in protest" of a state Supreme Court decision upholding Washington’s new capital gains tax.
