Fuzzy’s is piloting a new model that blends fast casual with full service, says President Patrick Kirk—pairing a streamlined menu, new tacos, and a margarita-forward bar with full-on hospitality. [Photo: Fuzzy’s]
A new Sugar Land restaurant is a departure from other Fuzzy's locations. Unlike traditional Fuzzy’s venues where guests order at the counter and collect their food at a pickup window, the restaurant will offer tableside service.
Patrick Kirk was named Fuzzy's Tacos's new president and will continue as chief marketing officer, while ex-IHOP operations director Marshall Claycamp was named the company's chief operations officer.
“I love Fuzzy’s badass attitude and strong values,” said Patrick Kirk, who joins the company after serving in roles at national brands including Applebee's, Tony Roma’s, and Buffalo Wild Wings.
Dine Brands Global—the parent company of IHOP and Applebee's Grill + Bar—acquired the fast casual Fuzzy's Taco Shop chain, which serves Baja-style Mexican cuisine in "a fun, energetic atmosphere." Since the first Fuzzy's was founded in 2003 near TCU, the chain has grown to 138 locations in 18 states.
