The Hunt Energy Enterprises spinout—which closed a $7.5 million Pre-Series A funding round in February—said the new plant will commercialize its technology for "a cleaner and more economical battery future" for EV's and energy storage.
Backed by the Department of Defense and $200 million in private capital, the new facility helps companies prototype and scale battery technologies for both commercial use and national defense. The launch comes at a time when supply chain independence is a growing priority.

Under the agreement, Bitech will acquire battery energy storage systems and solar projects with estimated capacity of up to 5.8 GW. The move underscores a "unified commitment" to advancing the development of projects in the U.S. including in Texas, Arizona, and Louisiana, the companies said.
