Continental to Build Tire Distribution Center in Fort Worth with Automation, Solar, and Expandability to 1.2M+ SF

With a reported investment of $69 million, the world's No. 4 tire company will begin building the center this month on Old Burleson Road in Fort Worth. "We see the facility as a blueprint initiative for future building designs in respect of automation and renewable energy supply," a Continental executive said.

In partnership with Continental—which is based in Germany with a U.S. HQ in Auburn Hills, Michigan—Aurora says the two companies have finalized the design and architecture of the future fallback system and hardware of the Aurora Driver. Aurora aims to begin rolling totally human-free trucks on I-45 between Dallas and Houston in late 2024.
