Texas might be known as the Lone Star State, but startup founders don’t have to go it alone. The Texas Venture Crawl aims to connect entrepreneurs with local investors and resources to help grow a thriving startup ecosystem across the state.
And now it’s coming to Dallas.
On Oct. 6, North Texas startups can learn about the local and regional venture community that helps support the startup ecosystem at the free Texas Venture Crawl at The DEC Network@Redbird in Dallas.
Dallas is one of 10 Texas communities hosting a crawl that evening.
The event’s tagline sums it up: “Texas might be The Lone Star State, but we shouldn’t have Lone Star startup founders.” Organizers say the event allows founders to meet investors and VCs to connect.
The Texas Venture Alliance organized the statewide event, from Austin to Houston, El Paso, San Antonio, and smaller cities. The organization says it welcomes additional sponsors and locations.
Last year’s inaugural Austin Venture Crawl drew more than 1,300 entrepreneurs and investors.
In Texas Venture Alliance’s coverage of last year’s event, organizers said that The Venture Crawl is a way founders can get to know startup investors at each stop. VC professionals also use this as an opportunity to get to know other investors.
“The power of the venture community in Austin was palpable at the Austin Venture Crawl,” Jennifer Cuello, partner at the Dallas office of EisnerAmper and a member of Texas Venture Crawl leadership, said about last year’s event. “I would drive from Dallas 4x over to attend this next year.”
Now Texas Venture Alliance has brought the crawl to Dallas and many more communities.
