Robots From Carrollton-Based Golabs Visit the Dallas Mavericks, Go Viral

A G1 Humanoid Robot from Golabs was taking a tour of the Mavericks' practice facility, showing off its karate moves. Then Kyrie Irving shoved things up a notch.

They might not be able to hoop, but the robots who visited the Dallas Mavericks definitely know how to shake hands, as you can see above. Then the meeting with Mavs star Kyrie Irving got a little rough— and went viral.

A humanoid and canine robot from Carrollton-based Golabs “toured” the Mavericks’ practice facility while interacting with players and staff. The company’s G1 Humanoid Robot—manufactured by Hangzhou, China-based Unitree Robotics—is known for its fluid mobility and dextrous design. That dexterity was in evidence when it did some karate moves for Mavs players while wearing a Mavericks jersey.

Kyrie Irving then attempted to playfully fight the G1, giving it a shove that put the robot down for the count. The interaction quickly spread across social media, sparking global conversations about “robotics, sports culture, and the future of human-machine collaboration,” Golabs said.

Built with advanced 3D perception sensors, high-degree articulated joints, and responsive AI motion control, the G1 robot embodies what Golabs calls its commitment to accessible, engaging, and capable humanoid robotics. It’s designed for education, marketing, security, and companionship, the company added.
