GEICO cut the ribbon on its second North Texas building in Richardson Thursday, then said wait, there’s more: The insurance giant announced that it’s also signed a lease for a third building next door and struck a new sponsorship deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
As a result of its growth plans for the region, GEICO said it’s in the process of adding 2,500 jobs since it first began its North Texas expansion over the last year.
Today’s ribbon-cutting was held at GEICO’s new 165,000-square-foot building in Mapletree’s Galatyn Commons office complex. The company said it has signed a lease for a third building next door, and plans to add an additional 1,000 employees across its three buildings in Richardson over the next two years.
Since December 2024, GEICO has announced 2,500 new jobs in North Texas supporting GEICO’s sales, service and claims operations.

Signing on with America’s Team
To bolster its presence in the region, GEICO has added a big star to its portfolio by signing a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Dallas Cowboys. The sponsorship includes in-stadium signage, digital media integration, and community engagement opportunities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, GEICO said. The company said it will work with the Cowboys “to create meaningful initiatives that drive positive change and leave a lasting impact across the region.”
“When we began expanding here just over a year ago, we knew North Texas had something special to offer,” GEICO’s Richardson Campus Leader and Head of Commercial Insurance Operations Jason Andrukonis said in a statement. “What we have found has surpassed even our highest expectations—exceptional talent, a welcoming business community, and a region that shares our drive to grow.”
“Today, with a third building in Richardson, we are putting down roots for the long haul and our partnership with the Dallas Cowboys is a reflection of that commitment,” he added.
Mayor lauds expansion
Richardson Mayor Amir Omar called GEICO’s continued expansion “a strong vote of confidence in our city, our workforce, and our business environment.”
“We’re proud that Richardson is home to a company investing at this scale and helping shape the future of North Texas’ economy,” the mayor added.
Founded in Fort Worth in 1936
GEICO’s roots in North Texas go back 90 years, to when the company was first founded in Fort Worth in 1936.
The company’s Dallas regional office first opened in June 1986 to support GEICO’s Southwest and Midwest expansions. The company moved to its current Richardson location on Greenville Avenue—a 232,000-square-foot building—in 2016.
GEICO’s new Galatyn Commons lease—in building D of the complex—will give the company nearly 600,000 square feet across all three Richardson buildings.
