QMF Steel manufactures and fabricates metal products from concept to completion.The $6.5 million, woman-owned company was named “Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year’ during Small Business Week 2017. Some of QMF’s North Texas projects include: eight bridges and 4,000 feet of custom panels made from powder coated aluminum for the LBJ Express project; custom steel bus shelters for Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Union Station to Oak Cliff Dallas Streetcar TIGER Project; and pedestrian rails on parts of the Horseshoe highway project, most notably the Margaret McDermott signature bridge.

“There’s no one tougher and stronger than DFW small business owners," U.S. Representative Marc Veasey said at the event honoring the North Texas graduates. Here's the list of the 105 graduates and a rundown of the event. 10,000 Small Businesses also released insights from a recent research report. The survey says, among other findings, adaptation will be key to survival.

Kicking off during National Small Business Week, the program will partner locally with Dallas College. Its goal: Create paid internships for underrepresented community college students and address the skills gap faced by small businesses during the pandemic.
