Dallas Video Tech Company OneDay Launches Multifamily PropTech Division With a New Platform for Leasing Agents

OneDay is using the same technology its known for—a first-of-its-kind video platform that allows senior living communities to celebrate and digitally preserve the stories of their residents—to enter into the multifamily real estate market. Convey by OneDay aims to redefine how leasing agents connect with current and prospective residents to ultimately drive occupancy and engagement.

OneDay is best known for its video platform that allows families to help capture and share the stories of loved ones. Its first SaaS product leveraged first-of-its-kind technology so senior living communities could digitally preserve the lives of its residents.

But since last year, OneDay has been making major moves. Though founded in 2012, the Dallas-based company raised a Series A funding round of $5.2 million in January 2020, then launched a pivotal new product designed for the funeral home industry. It was also named one of Inc.’s Best Workplaces of 2020, and increased its customer base by more than 150 percent.

That fuel is continuing in 2021. Today, OneDay announced another product in an entirely new category: multifamily real estate.

Called Convey by OneDay, the property technology platform personalizes the sales process to quickly connect with prospective and current residents. It’s designed specifically for multifamily leasing agents, so they’re able to showcase communities and shorten sales cycles. And, it uses what OneDay does best—high-quality videos.

“OneDay empowers businesses to tell their story in order to drive occupancy with best-in-class video platforms,” CEO and Co-Founder Clint Lee said in a statement. “We’re excited to expand into the multifamily industry, allowing leasing agents to harness our unique video technology to close leases faster, drive revenue, and increase resident engagement.”

To lead the new multifamily division, Lee brought on a 22-year veteran of the proptech industry. Mike Davis, who recently served as vice president of enterprise sales at RealPage, has been appointed the senior vice president of multifamily at OneDay.

At RealPage, the Richardson-based provider of software and data analytics to the real estate industry, Davis spent 14 years overseeing customers ranging from local to regional to those on the National Multifamily Housing Council Top 50 list. Before that, he worked with Resident Data, now LexisNexis.

Essentially, Convey by OneDay aims to convert prospects into residents. Each community has its own custom-built iteration of the platform, making for a personalized experience that mirrors OneDay’s own brand.

For instance: Leasing agents can record their own videos of a property to be used for prospect introductions, virtual tours, post-tour recaps, or to stay up-to-date throughout the sales process. Or, current residents can use the platform to promote a local event or send reminders about important upcoming due dates.

Convey by OneDay comes with a streamlined notification system that allows agents to immediately connect with potential leads. Each alert automatically populates when someone opens an email, plays a video, or makes a comment.

There’s also two-way messaging. To drive sales momentum, OneDay says it wanted to create enhanced communication between prospective or current residents and agents.

It’s all wrapped up via a centralized dashboard that provides feedback metrics on items—like emails, videos, and messages—that are leading to real results. Leasing agents are also supported by a dedicated Convey by OneDay client success team.

Lee hopes the platform will allow multifamily real estate teams to create authentic connections with current residents and prospects alike. But he doesn’t plan on stopping there. “With our video platform, we believe we can transform countless industries, like multifamily, and create a world where no one’s story goes untold,” he says.

Lee himself has a passion for people and storytelling, and he shares OneDay’s mission to help families purposefully share their stories. With the company, he hopes to build a culture centered around service to others. Today, OneDay is partnered with some 5,000 senior living communities across the U.S., the U.K, and Canada.

The CEO and his team aim to take what they’ve learned from senior living and apply it to the multifamily industry. All while anchoring it to the power of its video platform.
