Ammonia control in a recirculating aquaculture system
Patent No. 11297809
Inventor(s): F. William Gilmore (Parker, CO), Thomas C. Untermeyer (San Antonio, TX)
Assignee(s): NATURAL SHRIMP INC. (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17369434 on 07/07/2021 (279 days app to issue)
Abstract: Selected freshwater or saltwater aquaculture systems are processed for the automatic removal of waste, ammonia, and pathogens while controlling temperature, oxygen, and feed amounts for obtaining maximum growth and survival at maximum aquatic species densities. A core platform treatment technology removes ammonia by combining chlorine with the ammonia to form chloramines, which are removed by catalytic activated carbon at a downstream filter station. Processing also removes potential pathogens by sterilizing and electrifying the water. The technology utilizes ammonia, chlorine, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), and flow sensors to electronically adjust the amount of chlorine needed to remove the existing ammonia. A control system utilizes temperature, dissolved oxygen, and image processing sensors to optimize heating, cooling, feeding, and aeration.

The natural pozzolan may be a volcanic ejecta, such as pumice or perlite. Other pozzolans may also be used for this beneficiation process. Many pozzolans are experimentally tested and may be used to beneficiate non-spec fly ash into certifiable Class F fly ash. Additionally, this disclosure provides a method of converting a Class C fly ash to a more valuable Class F fly ash. This discovery will extend diminishing Class F fly ash supplies and turn non-spec fly ash waste streams into valuable, certified fly ash pozzolan which will protect and enhance concrete, mortars and grouts.

An analog front end (AFE) in the system receives input analog signals, such as signals representing an audio input to a microphone. Features in the input signal are extracted, by measuring such attributes as zero crossing events and total energy in filtered versions of the signal with different frequency characteristics at different times during the audio event. In one embodiment, a tunable analog filter is controlled to change its frequency characteristics at different times during the event. In another embodiment, multiple analog filters with different filter characteristics filter the input signal in parallel, and signal features are extracted from each filtered signal; a multiplexer selects the desired features at different times during the event.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems for coordinating wireless communication are disclosed. One method includes generating, by a wireless radiator, a plurality of selectable directional wireless communication links capable of providing connectivity across a plurality of cells, wherein each of the cells is spatially different from other cells, and wherein each of the cells covers a cell area, wherein a plurality of hubs are located within the cell area, generating, by a controller, a cell map, wherein the cell map maps which of the directional wireless links, which of the plurality cells, and which of the hubs are active as a function of time, thereby supporting a wireless communication link between the base station and the hubs of the cell area corresponding with the active directional wireless link, and providing the cell map to the base station and the hubs of each of the cells.

Control information monitoring framework for cellular communication
Patent No. 11304261
Inventor(s): Yang Li (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): Apple Inc. (Cupertino, CA)
Law Firm: Kowert, Hood, Munyon, Rankin Goetzel, P.C. (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16288383 on 02/28/2019 (1139 days app to issue)
Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing cellular communication using a control information monitoring framework. A wireless device may monitor a control channel for control information according to a first periodic pattern. According to the first periodic pattern, the wireless device may monitor the control channel in a specified slot during each period of the first periodic pattern. Each period of the first periodic pattern may include multiple slots. The wireless device may receive control information during a first slot. The first slot may be a specified slot according to the first periodic pattern. The control information received during the first slot may schedule a data communication. The wireless device may monitor the control channel for control information in at least one slot that is not specified according to the first periodic pattern based at least in part on receiving control information during a specified slot according to the first periodic pattern.

Measurement of dielectric liquid level change in two-phase immersion cooling systems
Patent No. 11304342
Inventor(s): Mazyar Amin (Plano, TX), Thomas Turner (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): TMGCore, LLC (Plano, TX)
Law Firm: Hunton AK, LLP (no location found)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17336908 on 06/02/2021 (314 days app to issue)
Abstract: The instant application pertains to new fluid level monitoring apparatus and a cooling system for computer components that employs the fluid level monitoring apparatus. In one embodiment, the liquid level measurement device comprises a load cell and a buoyancy element. The buoyancy element is configured to be partially submerged in the liquid phase. The load cell and the buoyancy element are operably connected such that a change in liquid volume may be determined using Archimedes” principle.
