Beck Technology, a Dallas-based preconstruction estimating software provider, has acquired Atlanta-based Workpack, “an innovative AI-powered takeoff solution that enables construction cost estimators to complete takeoffs more than 50% faster than traditional 2D takeoff tools,” the company announced.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Speed and accuracy in takeoff are critical for winning bids and optimizing preconstruction workflows. By incorporating Workpack’s advanced AI technology, we’re giving estimators the ability to work faster and with greater precision than ever before,” Beck Technology CEO Norbert Orth said in a statement. “This addition boosts value for our customers and opens doors for AI to streamline other inefficiencies. Our goal remains clear: empowering customers with data-driven decisions for better construction outcomes.”
Beck said the strategic acquisition reinforces its commitment to advancing preconstruction workflows by integrating intelligent automation into the estimating and takeoff process.
Beck said that Workpack’s AI-driven technology can automatically detect walls, doors, windows, rooms, symbols, and more, with automated label matching for every object detected on 2D drawings. That dramatically reduces manual effort and improves accuracy, Beck said.
Workpack will be added to Beck Technology’s suite of preconstruction solutions, including a future integration, further streamlining the estimating process from takeoff to final bid analysis, the company said.
Founded in 1996, Beck is headquartered in downtown Dallas’ Santander Tower.
