Dallas-Based SpotSee Acquires Life Sciences Sensor Co. Telatemp

Telatemp is an Anaheim, California-based supplier of sensors, indicators, and dataloggers that ensure proper monitoring of temperature, humidity, handling, and other characteristics during the shipment of sensitive items.

Dallas-based SpotSee, a global leader in condition-indicating and monitoring solutions, has acquired Telatemp Corp., a supplier of sensors, indicators, and dataloggers that ensure proper monitoring of temperature, humidity, handling, and other characteristics during the shipment of sensitive items.

SpotSee is a Harbour Group company, and the announcement was made by Jeff Fox, St. Louis-based Harbour Group’s chairman and CEO. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

From its facility in Anaheim, California, Telatemp supports a wide variety of customers and end markets, with a particular expertise in the life sciences sector.

“Telatemp products play an important role in the shipping of life-saving products and materials, such as heart valves,” SpotSee CEO Tony Fonk said in a statement. “Dan [Stack] and his team have built an outstanding business that gives doctors the assurance that these life-saving products are not compromised due to temperature. We’re thrilled to continue serving and expanding these mission-critical applications.”

Stack, CEO of Teletemp, said the partnership is right for his company.

“We’re very excited about the next chapter for Telatemp” Stack said. “This business has been part of the Darringer family for many years and picking the right partner was critical to us. SpotSee and Harbour Group have great experience growing brands and serving customers like ours, so we think there are many good things to come for our customers with the combined business.”

Fox added: “We’re always grateful for an opportunity to work with strong leaders like Dan and build on the foundation he established at Telatemp. Over the years SpotSee has grown meaningfully in life sciences condition-monitoring and this acquisition accelerates our move into this attractive market.”
