Apple Inc. has been granted U.S. patent #12124831 for "techniques for dynamically provisioning electronic subscriber identity modules to mobile devices," invented by Benjamin J. Livesay and Neal M. Flanagan. The patent describes a method where software applications "utilize an electronic Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM)" to access mobile network operator (MNO) services, including installing the application and launching it to access wireless services with restrictions based on eSIM parameters.
