North Texas-Based Caterpillar Announces CEO Transition, COO to Take Helm

Current COO Joseph Creed joined Caterpillar in 1997 and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility across multiple divisions of Caterpillar. He will succeed D. James Umpleby III as CEO, with Umpleby becoming executive chairman.
