BuDhaGirl Appoints First President and Chief Operating Officer for Its Dallas-Based Luxe Lifestyle Jewelry Brand

Susan Alvarez has stepped into a pivotal role at BuDhaGirl LLC, taking the reins as its first president and chief operating officer. The Dallas-based luxury lifestyle brand, known for its iconic “All-Weather Bangles,” aims to amplify the growth of the innovative jewelry brand known for its mindfulness principles.

It’s a strategic move that BuDhaGirl said underscores its commitment to expedite growth and operational excellence in the industry. Alvarez will be based at BuDhaGirl’s corporate offices and showroom in the Design District in Dallas.

BuDha Girl is the brainchild of founder Jessica Jesse, who created the brand after being inspired by the Sai Sin bracelets distributed by Buddhist monks in Thailand.

Alvarez is no stranger to the retail landscape, boasting a track record with brands like Dormify, Banana Republic, and Nordstrom. She now brings that wealth of experience to BuDhaGirl, a jewelry brand with a distinct identity as a fashion statement and medium of self-awareness.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Susan Alvarez to BuDhaGirl, “Jessica Jesse, BuDhaGirl’s founder, CEO and creative director, said in a statement. “This is an exciting juncture for our company.”

Alvarez is “the right person at the right time,” Jesse says, as the company broadens its client base in North America, Europe, and “select other geographies” and plans new product lines in its lifestyle portfolio.

Model-turned-entrepreneur on a mission

Jesse, a model-turned-entrepreneur, is the visionary force behind BuDhaGirl. The founder created the brand after being inspired by the Sai Sin bracelets distributed by Buddhist monks in Thailand.

According to BuDhaGirl, the brand elevates routine adornment to a practice of intention. Each of its pieces—especially the “soundless, waterproof and TSA proof” All-Weather Bangles—is designed to be a functional and symbolic addition to the wearer’s daily life, connecting artistic expression to personal reflection.

“I’m deeply honored to join BuDhaGirl at this exciting time in its history,” Alvarez said in a statement. “I am eager to collaborate with Jessica Jesse and the BuDhaGirl team to continue to bring her vision to fruition and meaningfully contribute to its enduring growth and prosperity as a leading lifestyle brand.”
