There’s still time to submit artwork to the Vignette Art Fair 2018.
The second annual Fair Park event will feature Texas women who “have been under recognized by art institutions and establishments.” Launched by the Texas Women’s Caucus For Art in 2017, the fair, which runs April 11-15 this year, exhibits paintings, sculptures, videos, and performance art.
Applicants for the 2018 event can submit multiple pieces of artwork as long as they follow the fair’s requirements. The submission deadline is Feb. 4.
The selection process will be carried out by a local curator, who will notify selected women March 4. All of the chosen artists will be featured at The Women’s Museum Building in Fair Park and also on Vignette’s exhibition webpage.
Last year, the five-day fair featured all-female led discussion panels on various topics concerning arts and the community. The panel discussions included successful Dallas-based women focused on careers revolving around the arts. The key speakers and performers for this year’s event have yet to be announced, but you can check for updates on the Vignette Facebook page.
The Vignette Art Fair will fall during Dallas Arts Month. Dallas Mayor Rawlings started the arts celebration in 2013 to foster awareness and appreciation for the city’s arts community. Throughout April, multiple artistic and cultural events will occur across the Dallas area.
