Dallas-Fort Worth and the state of Texas were well represent among Deloitte’s annual Technology Fast 500 winners, with 17 of the ranked companies in the Lone Star State and eight of those from North Texas.
The highest-ranked DFW companies are SPAR Information Systems (No. 19) and Alkami Technology Inc. (No. 66).
SPAR offers enterprise-class solutions in big data, data warehouse and BI, and master data management, while Alkami offers digital banking solutions.
The overall top-ranked company is Donuts Inc., a communications and networking company based in Kirkland, Washington.
Five of the ranked Texas companies are in the Houston area, while four hailed from Austin.
The Technology Fast 500 list consists of companies from across North America, which are “disrupting the technology industry,” Deloitte said.
The companies are involved in a variety of industries including software, biotech, life sciences, energy technology, cloud computing, medical, and others.
To be considered for inclusion on the list, the companies must own proprietary intellectual property or technology that is sold to customers, with that technology contributing to most of the operating revenues.
The 2017 winners were selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2013-2016.
