Texas’ Largest ‘Sim’ Racing Center To Open in Dallas This Summer

The Velocity | Sim Racing Lounge will offer Interconnected racing simulators, each equipped with full motion systems and 180-degree panoramic displays for a realistic virtual driving experience. Guests will be able to choose virtual race cars from iconic brands such as Porsche and Lamborghini to race on world-famous tracks.

Velocity | Sim Racing Lounge aims to bring the thrill of motorsports to Dallas this summer with 34 “world-class racing simulators” in the state’s largest sim racing center.

Velocity’s 10,000-square-foot-plus venue will be located at The Hill shopping center at 9830 N. Central Expressway at Walnut Hill Lane. It will offer an authentic, professional-grade driving experience in a sleek, automotive-themed lounge with three unique racing zones. With a large central bar, and a full kitchen, Velocity said it will offer “carefully curated, motorsports-inspired food and craft cocktail menus.”

“Motorsports and racing has been a huge part of my life and Velocity is about sharing that passion with the community,” Founder Viet Tran said in a statement. “After creating a true motorsport and car enthusiast destination in Houston, we knew Dallas was the natural next step. We’re excited to bring the largest simulation racing center in Texas to the DFW region and can’t wait for everyone to experience Velocity.”

Dallas will be Velocity’s new flagship location, doubling the size of its inaugural Houston lounge, which welcomed more than 28,000 drivers in its first year in 2025, the company said.

Guests will be able to choose virtual race cars from iconic brands such as Porsche and Lamborghini to race on world-famous tracks including the Circuit of the Americas, Laguna Seca, and Silverstone Circuit.

Velocity said it’s developing a custom“Virtual Dallas” track that will launch later in 2026. The route will start at Velocity Dallas, run south along U.S. 75 toward downtown, then head back north on the Dallas North Tollway. Simulated racing on familiar roadways builds on the success of Velocity’s “Virtual 610 Challenge” course in Houston, the first custom-designed virtual city driving experience of its kind in the U.S., the company said

The Dallas location will also introduce a patent-pending Racer Simulator, which Velocity calls “the world’s first kid-friendly motion simulator” to allow families together in their dream cars on famous tracks. All simulators will be connected so friends, families, and coworkers can compete head-to-head on the same course.

Velocity plans to host live, intercity sim racing events between its Dallas and Houston locations using live cameras so fans can watch the racers compete in real time. Tran said his long-term vision includes a Texas-wide sim racing championship to honor the best driver in the state, with up to 60 drivers on a shared virtual grid across multiple venues.

Inspiration and venue highlights

Tran brings a blend of tech expertise and racing passion to Velocity. Born in Vietnam and raised in Texas, he graduated from high school in Houston and from Stanford University. His tech career led him through several startups and later to Amazon in New York and Seattle. An avid motorcycle club-racing enthusiast, he was inspired to create Velocity after an on-track accident and using sim racing during his at-home recovery, the company said.

“Velocity has become the go-to destination for car, motorcycle, and racing enthusiasts, from someone who wants to have a fun and memorable night out to the most dedicated racers wanting to improve their lap time,” Tran said. “The goal at Velocity is to make racing fun and accessible for everyone while building a community with a shared passion. Now, with two locations, we have the opportunity to bring even more drivers into the sport across Texas.”

Velocity Dallas will host both everyday fun and large-scale events, with a private event room and the ability to reserve the entire venue for corporate events and social celebrations. The lounge can accommodate more than 400 guests and will showcase cars and motorcycles on display, dramatic lighting and signage, and custom motorsports design elements. Tran is collaborating with architecture firm Fusion AE on the overall design and ARIA Signs & Designs for racetrack-inspired lighting and a striking 75-foot-long center bar.
