Eye monitoring and protection
Patent No. 12414691

Inventor(s): Austin Ray Keeton (The Colony, TX), Fang Yuan Gonzalez (Frisco, TX), Huihui Wu (Grapevine, TX), Ivan Ortiz (Little Elm, TX), Justin Royell Nash (Little Elm, TX), Subhalakshmi Selvam (Allen, TX)
Assignee(s): United Services Automobile Association (USAA) (San Antonio, TX)
Law Firm: Potomac Law Group, PLLC (3 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17678497 on 02/23/2022 (1301 days app to issue)

Abstract: An eye-monitoring system monitors and relieves, or even prevents, eye fatigue in users of display screens. The system monitors indicia of eye fatigue in the user, analyzes whatever information the monitoring uncovers, and assigns a score to the monitored indicia. For example, rubbing the eyes is a pretty strong sign of eye fatigue, while the system may have to monitor pupil dilation for quite a while to decide that eye fatigue is likely. The assigned score is associated with the likelihood that the user has, or will soon have, eye fatigue. If the score so warrants, then the system takes remedial action to lessen any current fatigue and to hold off the development of more fatigue. As an example of remedial action, the system alters the visual content seen by the user to shift the content”s color palette slightly or to decrease its displayed brightness.

Abstract: A solid particle handling system for downhole pumps operating at low flow rates is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes an outer tubing, such as a production tubing, and an additional inner tubing positioned therewithin. This configuration facilitates increased fluid speed, promoting vertical movement of solid particles. A designated storage area between the outer tubing and the inner tubing accumulates particles, while a diverter optimizes fluid redirection and particle flow. In one operational mode, the fluid medium, along with solid particles, flows at an increased speed through the smaller diameter inner tubing. In another mode, accumulated particles are stored in the designated area, preventing pump blockage.

Rod-pump controller
Patent No. 12416298

Inventor(s): Jason Williams (Weatherford, TX)
Assignee(s): Williams NR Automation LLC (Weatherford, TX)
Law Firm: D. Tiller Law PLLC (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18679539 on 05/31/2024 (473 days app to issue)

Abstract: A rod-pump control device is disclosed. The claimed rod-pump control device uses fuel or air usage for gas units, and can use pressure. The sensors work as the primary trigger to indicate a pump-off condition on an oil and gas well. These sensors can be used as stand-alone triggers or in conjunction with other sensors to more accurately monitor pump efficiency. When the pump-controller starts to indicate an inefficient pump condition, it will remove power to disengage an electric clutch or send a signal to an engine controller to stop. An adjustable algorithm will use percentage change of off time, dependent on actual run time compared to a user definable target time to keep the pump operating at peak efficiency.

Embedded system to characterize BTI degradation effects in MOSFETs
Patent No. 12416663

Inventor(s): Sharad Saxena (Richardson, TX)
Assignee(s): PDF Solutions, Inc. (Santa Clara, CA)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 18385896 on 10/31/2023 (686 days app to issue)

Abstract: A novel system for in-product Bias Temperature Instability (BTI) characterization that allows for characterization of transistor degradation rates is disclosed; it is self-testing and can be embedded in real products without impacting the host functionality. The test data collected during product chip testing (at Electrical Wafer Sort) can be used for identification of abnormal material and for material disposition, or to predict the chip aging rate and premature failure risk due to BTI degradation. The system can also collect the data from the real time device aging in the field, during the host chip operational lifetime. The system is equipped with local programmable power supply generation and self-test capabilities to allow concurrent operations with the host application. The Devices Under Test (DUTs) consist of standard cell-based Ring Oscillators (ROs) which have the unique capability of decoupling the BTI effects on N-type and P-type MOSFET transistors. New switching circuitry is implemented that provides for minimal delay between the stress and measurement phases, thus giving the system the capability of fully characterizing the BTI relaxation dynamic.

The service employs a simulation generator component that analyzes data to facilitate generating a simulation model that simulates an industrial automation system, including simulating or emulating industrial devices, industrial processes, other industrial assets, or network-related assets or devices, and their respective interrelationships with each other. The simulation generator component also analyzes modification data to facilitate generating a modified simulation model that simulates the industrial automation system based on the modification. The simulation generator component performs operation simulations using the simulation model or modified simulation model to facilitate determining whether making the modification is appropriate, determining or predicting performance of a modified industrial automation system, determining compatibility of a modification with an industrial automation system, or determining or predicting performance of the industrial automation system when processing a work order.

Communication interface with calibrating delay circuit
Patent No. 12418391

Inventor(s): Mihir Narendra Mody (Bangalore, , IN), Shailesh Ganapat Ghotgalkar (Bangalore, , IN)
Assignee(s): TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATED (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 18531638 on 12/06/2023 (650 days app to issue)

Abstract: In described examples, a device includes a transmitter, a receiver, and a control circuit. The transmitter transmits a clock signal, and the receiver receives a response signal. The control circuit is coupled to the transmitter and the receiver. The control circuit causes the transmitter to transmit a first clock signal with a first clock period, and to transmit a second clock signal with a second clock period greater than the first clock period. The control circuit determines whether a first pattern of a signal responsive to the first clock signal is the same as a second pattern of a signal responsive to the second clock period. If the patterns are the same, the control circuit delays the clock signal with a delay responsive to the first clock period to generate a delayed clock signal. The receiver samples response signals using the delayed clock signal during normal operation of the device.

The system may restrict access to functionality of the system based on various user roles having linkages with authorization attributes specifying different accesses. Users with a first user role make generate tracking objects and users with a second user role may enroll with the tracking objects. Users with the second user role may input progression metrics and verification of the progression metrics. Users with the second user role may receive an engagement score based on interactions of users with a third user role. Furthermore, users with a fourth user role may engage users with the second user role with sponsorships based on the engagement scores. Dependent on user role, the system may present a virtual gate graphical user interface (GUI) preventing some users from accessing functions of the system in visualizations of the GUI.

Global control access platform
Patent No. 12418542

Inventor(s): Julia Ruth Nash (Richardson, TX), Landon Flores (Rowlett, TX)
Assignee(s): International Business Machines Corporation (Armonk, NY)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 18217179 on 06/30/2023 (809 days app to issue)

Abstract: A method for providing controlled access to resources in an enterprise begins by defining a ”mesh” that associates a workplace team to a set of one or more workplace resources. The team has a role that, with respect to the resources, has a set of access permissions. An individual that is not then associated with the workplace team, e.g., in the given role, is assigned a physical or virtual token that represents the individual in the workplace environment. In response to detecting that the token is in physical or logical proximity to a member of the workplace team, the permissions are then automatically extended to the token. The resources are then accessible using the token. When the individual possessing the token is no longer in proximity, the access permissions are automatically revoked. The scope of the mesh configuration may be dynamically updated based on tracking activities of the workplace team.
