Plano-based Clearspan has acquired Charlotte, North Carolina-based AveriStar in a strategic acquisition of another provider of cloud-based Unified Communication solutions to service providers and large, multilocation enterprises.
“We’re thrilled to welcome AveriStar to the Clearspan team,” Clearspan President and CEO Bill Crank said in a statement. “This acquisition not only increases our scale and EBITDA, but it also broadens our customer base, including key service provider customers. These relationships complement our existing partnerships and will help solidify our standing in the North American Service Provider, VAR, and large enterprise markets. Additionally, the talented team at AveriStar will further bolster our management, operational, and organizational capabilities.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2007, Clearspan is a leader in cloud-based voice, video, chat, and collaboration technologies. It said the acquisition further strengthens its presence within the U.S. service provider market and enhances its ability to serve large enterprises, SLED, and Fed as successfully executed for over 40 years both on premise and in cloud/hybrid cloud deployments.
“Joining forces with Clearspan allows us to immediately offer enhanced solutions to our customers, including POTS Replacement solutions, hardware, and phone rental options, and additional UCaaS platform add-on functions,” Mark Averi, CEO of AveriStar, said in a statement. “Clearspan’s PING mobile and desktop clients deliver the brandable solutions that AveriStar’s service provider clients have long requested, enabling seamless customization and rapid deployment for our end-users.”
Diane Myers, senior research director and principal analyst at Florida-based Metrigy, called the acquisition a natural fit.
“Clearspan has been a leader in delivering large-scale UCaaS solutions through major service providers for years,” Myers said. “The acquisition of AveriStar is a natural fit as both companies share similar customer challenges and a commitment to solving them with flexible, customizable capabilities required by service providers and large enterprises. Together, Clearspan and AveriStar will be better positioned to improve customer acquisition and enhance overall service delivery.”
