Veteran executive Monica Opderbeck has been appointed chief commercial officer of Dallas-based Vesper Energy, a developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States.
“Monica’s experience and strategic mindset will be instrumental to our growth and continued success,” Co-CEO Mark Rostafin said in a statement. “Since joining Vesper Energy as vice president of corporate development earlier this year, Monica has hit the ground running by contributing to the company’s long-term growth strategy.”
In this expanded role, Monica will oversee all commercial functions at Vesper Energy, including corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, and origination, the company said. She will drive enterprise growth through capital raising efforts, strategic investments, partnership arrangements, and create greater organizational alignment across departments on the overall monetization of assets.
“I’m honored and excited to step into this role and look forward to building on the momentum Vesper has created in the market with a 2+ gigawatt (GW) near-term pipeline, out of the broader 14+ GW of solar, storage, and hybrid pipeline,” Opderbeck said.
Before joining Vesper, Opderbeck held leadership roles at Pattern Energy Group, including head of commercial origination and senior director of corporate development, and at Wells Fargo Bank where she led utility-scale tax equity investments
