Plano’s Research/Technology Crossroads district just landed another high-tech import.
The 800-acre technology/light industrial park in southeast Plano is designed for the needs of tech companies in everything from electronics to nanotech to IT, logistics, and more.
Its newest attraction: Sysgration America Corporation, which is moving into a 98,000-square-foot manufacturing facility by 2025 and plans to have over 150 employees working there by 2029.
A global leader in industrial AR/VR glasses, lithium battery packs, and more
Sysgration, a publicly traded electronics company based in Taiwan, plans to use the facility to enhance its services to the U.S. market, according to Plano Economic Development. Sysgration is a global market leader in the design and manufacturing of industrial-grade AR/VR glasses, industrial PCs, Bluetooth low energy tire pressure monitoring systems, and Li-Ion green energy battery packs.
The company operates several manufacturing facilities in Asia. Its Plano facility will enhance Sysgration’s supply chain capabilities and bring design and manufacturing services closer to its customer base, Plano Economic Development said.
In a statement, Sysgration Chairman Mark Lee said the Plano facility “will be operated under state-of-the-art automated processes to expand Sysgration’s services to worldwide customers with high-quality products.”
Lee’s company serves customers including globally recognized brands in the automotive, data center, satellite communication, semiconductor fabs, and industry 4.0 automations industries.
“We’re excited to welcome Sysgration to Plano and look forward to the positive impact they will have on our community and the opportunities it will create for collaboration,” Plano Mayor John Muns said in a statement. “We’re confident that their presence will contribute to enhancing the economic and cultural fabric of the city of Plano.”
Construction of the space in Plano’s R/T District is slated to be complete by 2025.
Follows announcement that ASSA ABLOY is relocating its NA HQ to the district
The Sysgration facility announcement follows the news from January that ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, a Sweden-based security technology company, is relocating its North American headquarters to Plano, and plans to hire 350 new employees for its new campus over the next decade. ASSA ABLOY’s campus will be in the R/T District as well.
