Truck Yard—the retro beer garden and “adult playground” at 5624 Sears Street off Dallas’ Lower Greenville Avenue—has reopened following a reported $2 million renovation. But as you can see in the photos above and below, the place has lost none of its “dive-ish” flair.
The renovations include an upsized bar and kitchen, a more weather-friendly experience with covered and enlarged patios, upgraded and wildly stylized restrooms, four fire pits, a partially turfed yard, and more. You can see swooping videos of the result by going here.
The famous dancing frog statues by artist Bob “Daddy-O” Wade—which once graced the rooftop of Tango, an iconic early ’80s dance and live music club further down Lowest Greenville—have been repainted and placed on the rooftop of Truck Yard’s entry. “While no one loves to shell out money to then shell up, we felt a renovation was necessary to meet the demand of our Dallas location,” Founder Jason Boso said in a statement. Writing on Truck Yard’s Facebook’s page, Boso introduced “the old and improved Truck Yard” by saying, “We went and trucked the place up.”
And just in the nick of time, too: Truck Yard opened on March 10, the day before the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

In its newly released five-year plan, Irving-based ExxonMobil said that it has allocated roughly $17 billion on its own emission reductions and accretive third-party lower-emission initiatives through 2027, an increase of almost 15%. Nearly 40% of these investments is directed toward building its lower-emissions business with customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions with a primary emphasis on large-scale carbon capture and storage, biofuels, and hydrogen.
