Allen-Based MD7 Promotes Three VPs to Power Growth With EV Charging Stations, 5G Mobile Networks

MD7—which calls itself "the only dedicated global digital infrastructure consultancy"—says the advent of electric vehicles and global 5G networks "will revolutionize how we live." As the company manages the underlying network infrastructure of both, its new VP promotions are aimed at facilitating growth.

The company relocated its HQ from San Diego to Allen's Watters Creek campus last year.

Allen-based MD7—which calls itself “the only dedicated global digital infrastructure consultancy”—is promoting three longtime leaders to VP roles, aiming to accommodate growth in its EV charging station business and the global embrace of 5G mobile networks.

The company is promoting Catherine Abejar to VP of land use and processing; Chris Rios to VP of development services; and Courtney Davis to VP president of small cells and EV.

‘Decades of wireless industry experience combined’

“With wireless connectivity on such a rapid growth curve, we’re fortunate to have experienced and talented leaders to accept the increased responsibilities of vice presidents,” MD7 Founder and CEO Michael Gianni said in a statement. “Catherine, Courtney, and Chris have decades of wireless industry experience combined, and each of them has been with us for at least nine years.”

Abejar joined MD7 in 2006 as a lease negotiator and has since served in various roles, including lease processor, team lead, project manager, and program manager. With a B.A. in social sciences from California State University San Marcos, she’s a certified paralegal.

Davis joined MD7 in 2009 as a lease auditor and was quickly promoted to a supervisory role, where she served as project manager, program manager, and director. Davis is admitted to practice law in Arkansas, holds a J.D. from Florida State University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, Global Campus.

Rios joined MD7 in 2013 as a project manager and has also fulfilled roles as program manager and director of development. He holds a B.A. in sports management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

MD7 Chief Strategy Officer Tom Leddo says the new VP promotions are coming at a key moment.

“It’s an exciting time to be in the digital infrastructure space as the advent of 5G and electric vehicles usher in a connected world,”Leddo said in the statement. “MD7 is well-positioned to develop and manage the underlying network infrastructure that will revolutionize how we live, and these three team members are a key to our growth.”

Founded in 2003, MD7 has since grown into a provider of comprehensive expertise to mobile network operators in more than 20 countries worldwide. The company relocated its headquarters from San Diego to Allen last year, receiving a $773,000 grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund.

At the time, Governor Greg Abbott said MD7’s HQ move would create 218 new jobs in Allen’s Watters Creek District and bring more than $6.8 million in capital investment.

MD7 also has international headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.
