Dallas-Based Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope Names New CEO

Michael Marcely, who served as Interim Chief Executive Officer, will return to his role as Chief Financial Officer of OBE.

Dallas-based Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE), a leading North American manufacturer and distributor of architectural hardware solutions, glass, and glazing systems, has appointed Mark Adamson as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2024.

Adamson brings over 35 years of experience in the building products sector to OBE. His resume includes CEO roles at Fletcher Building and Formica Corporation, as well as experience as a private equity operating partner.

“I am thrilled to join OBE and look forward to working closely with our talented team to help our customers solve their most demanding design and project challenges,” Adamson said in a statement. He emphasized the company’s commitment to “providing industry-leading quality, reliability, and product innovation with excellent service.”

The incoming CEO holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Finance with Honors from Northumbria University in the UK and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte.

Adamson’s appointment comes as OBE continues to strengthen its position in the North American market. The company operates 88 manufacturing and distribution facilities across five countries, employing about 6,400 people.

According to OBE, its vertically integrated structure allows it to serve a broad customer base, including architects, glaziers, contractors, and developers in both residential and commercial construction sectors. The company specializes in high-performance architectural glass products and aluminum framing systems, complemented by hardware and glazing supplies distribution.

OBE is part of the portfolio of KPS Capital Partners, LP, a family of investment funds with approximately $21.6 billion of assets under management as of March 31, 2024. KPS focuses on making controlling equity investments in manufacturing and industrial companies across various industries, according to the news release.
