If you've driven past SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium on Mockingbird Lane, you may have noticed it's more or less horseshoe-shaped, with no end zone on the stadium's southern end. Not for long. SMU broke ground today on a fancier home corral for the SMU Mustangs football team—putting the first digs on a $100 million, 192,500-square-foot end zone expansion.

$666M Southern Gateway Project on I-35 and U.S. 67 Is Completed, Open to Traffic
Led by Irving's Fluor Corporation in a joint venture with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, the 10-mile-long TxDOT project included the reconstruction and widening of lanes on I-35E between U.S. 67 and I-30 and on U.S. 67 between I-20 and I-35E. Along this stretch of I-35, phase one of Southern Gateway Park—a sprawling planned deck park near the Dallas Zoo—has been decked out for its continuing construction.

The location at 8540 West Freeway in White Settlement—the only one of its kind on earth—has no dining tables because, as you can see above the front door, it's for "Take Away" only. App-driven tech lets customers tap in their Big Mac desires in advance, so their food will be ready for them in the Order Ahead Lane.

The Home Depot to Supply 8% of Its Power Needs from Denton County Solar and Storage Project

Nearly 8% of The Home Depot's total electricity usage is going to be based on renewable energy from a project right here in North Texas. The Atlanta-based home improvement giant announced that it has purchased 100 MW of solar energy from National Grid Renewables' Noble solar and storage project in Denton County. The solar farm is NGR's largest solar energy project to date, and its first utility-scale energy storage project, The Home Depot says.
