Dallas’ ParkHub Sets its Stakes in Campground Management Software

The local parking technology company has acquired Dallas-based Bonfire, which specializes in campground management software, to expand its portfolio of enterprise solutions to support campground and RV park operations.

ParkHub, a B2B parking technology provider, has acquired Bonfire, a campground management platform, to optimize the outdoor recreational industry.

Together, the companies, both of which are based in Dallas, want to make campground management and reservations simple. Now in ParkHub’s suite of tech-based solutions is Bonfire’s campground management software, equipped with an online booking portal and reservation system.

As part of the acquisition, ParkHub has added Bonfire’s CEO, Jerry King, to its team to help direct advancement.

“While our end-markets may look different, our goal is ultimately the same—delivering solutions to remove friction, to fast track operations, and to provide an exceptional customer experience,” George Baker Sr., ParkHub’s founder and CEO, said in a statement. “Along our journey as a company, we’ve deployed ParkHub’s platform and resources to handle numerous use cases. In doing so, we realized our flexibility transcends the realm of parking, and we are excited to work with Jerry to help serve the growing camping industry.”

Since its founding in 2010, ParkHub has been dedicated to offering cutting-edge enterprise technology to the destination industry. The company’s products are uniquely equipped with contactless payment options, real-time operational data, robust performance analytics, and leading integrations with ticketing and parking reservation providers.

ParkHub’s technology is used by more than 500 professional sports and entertainment venues, universities, and recreational sites. According to the company, its streamlined processes and real-time data insights allow clients to cut costs, boost revenue, and improve the guest experience.

Dallas-based Bonfire is behind a simple-to-use and simple-to-learn campground management software. Through its online booking portal and an all-in-one system, campground owners and RV park managers are able to take reservations, process payments, and control inventory—all with a few clicks.

Additionally, Bonfire gives campground owners and managers calendar control, core reporting, use on any device, dedicated account Manager, amenity add-ons, free training for staff, and more.

A recent Kampgrounds of America report notes that campers are growing in volume, frequency of stays, across demographics, and use of technology. According to the report, 58 percent of campers see technology as impacting the number of times they go camping.

“What we are seeing now—and will likely witness even more in the future—is an overlapping of agendas across industries, which opens up an opportunity for consolidation and mutual growth,” said Jerry King, CEO of Bonfire, in a news release. “I’m thrilled to work with ParkHub to offer complementary products to Bonfire’s current clients and develop solutions to drive mobile operations.”
