Saturday is Earth Day and Facebook feeds across North Texas will be flush with posts about the environment, statistics about pollution, and tree emojis galore.
Then, Saturday will be over.
And Facebook feeds will go back to the usual political posts, NBA playoff scores, and puppy photos. Yet, there’s one hotel in town that keeps the light on for Earth Day every day: Hyatt Regency Dallas.
HYATT REGENCY DONATES
Although Earth Day comes and goes, Hyatt Regency Dallas has implemented innovative green initiatives into their everyday routine as it washes out waste.
Have you ever wondered what happens to the half-used bottles of shampoo you leave in your room after you check-out?
Through a partnership with Clean the World, the hotel collects, donates, recycles, and distributes the used soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and shower gel from its guestrooms to those in need in 30 countries around the world.
According to Hyatt and Clean The World, millions die every year from preventable hygiene-related illnesses.
With 4.6 million hotel rooms across the United States, Hyatt has the opportunity to leave a large green footprint.
By the numbers donations to 115 countries since 2009:
– 2,268 pounds of soap donated
– 2,424 pounds of bottles donated
– More than 38 million bars of soap
– More than 1.1 million hygiene kits distributed
With green solutions such as recycling guestroom amenities, Hyatt Regency Dallas shows us that Earth Day can be celebrated every day.
