Director of Communications, College of Engineering

BIOGRAPHY

Jeremy Agor, APR, is director of communications for the College of Engineering at UTA. In this role, he writes, edits and produces UTA Engineer magazine, as well as other publications. He also writes speeches, creates marketing materials, and coordinates the Colleges internal and external marketing and communications efforts, including its website and social media accounts. 

He is a MAVS 1000 instructor and has conducted faculty and staff training sessions at Central New Mexico Community College. He was also a guest speaker for several classes there.

Prior to UTA, he spent three years as Director of Communications at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth. He came to Fort Worth after five years at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque, finishing his tenure as director of marketing and public relations after three years as the colleges communications manager/web content editor. In each of these positions, he facilitated internal and external communications and marketing to a variety of audiences.

Agor began his career as a sports information director at NCAA Division I UNC Greensboro and NCAA Division III Plattsburgh State (NY) University. In that phase of his career, he worked several high-proflie NCAA Championship events, such as hosting the 1997 and 1998 Divison I Womens Soccer Championships and working several NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament regionals and an NCAA Division III Mens Hockey Frozen Four. His 2001-02 mens ice hockey media guide was named Best in the Nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America, and also won Best Cover honors. The 2002-03 mens ice hockey media guide was also named Best in the Nation.

In addition to his chosen profession, he was a writer and editor for MansfieldNOW! Magazine for two years.

A member of the Public Relations Society of America for 14 years, Agor earned his Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the organization and the Universal Accrediting Board in January 2017.
