A New 24-Story, Class AA Office Tower Is Coming to Plano’s Legacy West

One major tenant will be global tax services and software provider Ryan LLC, which will be moving its HQ from the Galleria in Dallas.

Designed by Gensler, the tower is expected to break ground early next year.

Plano’s Legacy West is about to get its first Class AA multi-tenant office tower. Minneapolis-based developer Ryan Companies expects to break ground in early 2022. The Gensler-designed tower is planned for completion in Q1 of 2024.

One major tenant will be global tax services and software provider Ryan LLC (not affiliated with the Ryan Companies). Ryan will be moving its HQ from the Galleria in Dallas.

Located at Highway 121 and Windrose Drive, the 24-story tower will feature an onsite fitness center, multiple conference rooms, a tenant lounge, and a café. Outdoor features will include structured parking, an abundance of green space, and bike storage.

The tower is already 50 percent pre-leased; JLL will lease the tower’s remaining 200,000 square feet.

“As the return to the office continues to evolve month to month, this space will allow future tenants the ability to live, work and play seamlessly in a true mixed-use environment,” said Ahnie Sheehy, vice president of leasing, JLL, in a statement.

Developer aims to deliver an “elevated experience”

“We create places for people to thrive. It’s about the value it brings to the people who use the spaces,” said Paul Rowsey, VP of real estate development at Ryan Companies, in the statement. “Legacy West is already a booming retail and dining destination for the City of Plano and surrounding area. A Class AA office building will complement the existing amenities and offer future tenants an elevated experience.”

Tower will complement Ryan, LLC’s hybrid work environment

“We’ll be at the center of where our team members live,” said G. Brint Ryan, chairman and CEO of Ryan, in the statement, “complementing our myRyan hybrid work environment and providing them with the best opportunity possible for work-life success.”

Ryan has a team of over 3,000 team members serving over 18,000 clients in more than 60 countries, the company says, including many of the world’s leading Global 5000 companies.

Ryan drawn by amenities and client/employee proximity

“We’re excited to move our headquarters to this first-class development at Legacy West,” said Robert Wertz, SVP and chief real estate officer at Ryan. “The office space and immediate surrounding area offer unparalleled amenities that will provide a superb experience for our employees. In addition, the location is desirable due to its close proximity to many of our clients and employee residences in the dynamic Plano and Frisco areas.”
